Celebrities and former presidents have shouted out the graduates from high school and college in the class of 2020, but one Cary preschool is making sure the littlest graduates get their due as well.

Fellowship Preschool held a parking lot graduation ceremony earlier this May, with parents driving the children in to be recognized for their efforts. One by one, staff called students up for a socially distanced certificate presentation, ABC11 reports. Teachers read a paragraph about each student and they will receive photos in the mail from the ceremony.

Becki Rossi, the program director, said that it’s important for the students to understand the importance of education.

“One of the things that is really important to us is that they understand this is the beginning of their education,” Rossi told ABC11. “We’re just in tears seeing their faces and family.”

The families were encouraged to “clap, whistle, honk and decorate their cars,” according to ABC11.
