In a new campaign spot entitled “Grace,” the Cooper for NC campaign highlights the need for North Carolina to expand Medicaid. 

“As governor, I’ll keep fighting to expand Medicaid for working people,” Governor Cooper says in the video. “39 states have done it, including Indiana when Mike Pence was governor.”

Projections show Medicaid expansion would provide coverage for more than half a million North Carolinians, create 40,000 jobs, boost the economy by $4 billion and benefit rural hospitals, the campaign says.

[Gov. Cooper]: One of the hardest things about protecting your family is when you can’t afford health insurance.

It’s a reality facing hundreds of thousands of North Carolina families, and that was even before the pandemic hit. 

As Governor, I’ll keep fighting to expand Medicaid for working people.

39 states have done it, including Indiana when Mike Pence was Governor.

But the legislature and Dan Forest keep saying no.

I won’t stop because no family should live in fear.
