At a recent press conference, Governor Cooper reiterated that the state of North Carolina still needed assistance from the federal government in order to ramp up testing for coronavirus.
Governor Cooper said that the state still had work to do on the level of testing, watching trends and increasing the number of health care workers in the state. Masks, gowns and gloves are part of what he said were necessary assistance from the federal government, the Goldsboro Daily News reported.
According to North Carolina Health News, Governor Cooper has asked manufacturers across the state to move their production over to producing PPE. He also said that the federal government ought to direct more businesses to produce PPE as well, saying that, “This pandemic is a war and we need the armor to fight it.”
