Dan Forest has continued putting North Carolinians in danger during the pandemic by holding in-person campaign events. The Forest campaign notched a new milestone with their 50th in-person event during the ongoing coronavirus pandemic.
Despite heaps of evidence that his campaign practices needlessly put North Carolinians at risk, Forest holds events indoors often, with large crowds tightly packed and little-to-no mask-wearing. This is by design: Forest told reporters that he aims to “shake as many hands as we can” and continue to hold in-person fundraisers.
In addition, Forest continues to claim — without evidence — that masks do not work in slowing the spread of coronavirus. He has attempted to make all public schools reopen with no safety measures in place. And despite all these measures that would put more North Carolinians needlessly at risk of exposure to the coronavirus, Forest opposes Medicaid expansion.
