At the Fort Bragg military base in North Carolina, the first female soldier has graduated from the Special Forces Qualification Course, WRAL reports.
The rigorous course comprises training in basic combat, land navigation, mental acuity, survival, marksmanship, foreign language mastery and more, according to the Army’s website.
The new graduate received her Special Forces Tab at a graduation ceremony. She wore the green beret for which the special force is known.
Because of the secrecy around its membership and in order to protect the identities of the troops, the name of the soldier was not released.
