Restaurants across the state may be closed to in-person dining, but that didn’t stop Governor Roy Cooper and First Lady of North Carolina Kristin Cooper from finding a special way to celebrate their wedding anniversary, WCNC reported.
After issuing an executive order last Friday that urged North Carolinians to stay at home, the governor and the first lady enjoyed a homemade meal. According to a tweet, Kristin collected ingredients for the meal from the first couple’s garden, including spinach, chives, parsley and more.
“You can stay at home even when it’s your anniversary,” Governor Cooper tweeted.
Restaurants in North Carolina may have closed in-person dining options, but patrons can still order to-go, delivery or curbside pickup in many locations.
