The League of Conservation Voters Victory Fund added Dan Forest to their “Dirty Dozen in the States” list. The effort seeks to highlight candidates who pose a threat to the environment. 

Dan Forest has questioned whether climate change exists and opposes measures put in place to protect North Carolinians from the coronavirus. Additionally, he wrote a letter to the White House lobbying for them to remove national clean water protections, the NCLCV says.

In recent weeks, Governor Cooper wrote a letter to the White House asking for North Carolina to be added to a number of southeastern states that were granted a moratorium on offshore drilling. The request was accepted. Despite that environmental success, Dan Forest continues to support offshore drilling and fracking in North Carolina.
