In Asheville, North Carolina, most of the residents are adhering to the governor’s Stay At Home order. The local bears, for their part, are taking full advantage of an empty city.
“Wow, a bear in downtown Asheville. I never thought I’d see the day,” Tamara Hardy told WLOS. Hardy is an essential worker, which is why she happened to be out and about to see the bear.
At the nearby courthouse, employees were eating from a safe distance of six feet. “Yes, we are trying to do our best to social distance,” Jenna Walley told WLOS.
Though most of downtown was empty, a black bear wandered around the streets, inspecting the block.
