After a tight primary race, Ronnie Chatterji is poised to face off against “Republican incumbent and seasoned politician” Dale Folwell, according to the Winston-Salem Journal.
Chatterji told India Abroad that he planned “to leverage my research and practical experience on issues like health care innovation, socially responsible investing and corporate governance,” if he were elected as Treasurer.
Chatterji would bring no shortage of experience to the position: he’s been a business professor at Duke University and served the Obama administration on the Council of Economic Advisers. He also serves on Governor Roy Cooper’s Entrepreneurial Council and the NC FIRST Commission in the NC Department of Transportation.
If elected, Chatterji would be the first Indian-American elected to statewide office in North Carolina.
