Serioplast US, a manufacturer of plastic packaging, is set to begin an operation in Robeson County, Governor Cooper announced. The company will invest $9.4 million in their Red Springs operation, creating about 46 jobs, the Fayetteville Observer reports.
“New jobs like these demonstrate that North Carolina has a strong workforce and is open for business,” Cooper said. “This investment by Serioplast shows that our state remains a good fit for global companies.”
The company manufactures rigid plastic packaging for consumer goods, according to the governor’s office. That includes items like food, beverages and personal care products.
The company will have salaries that average about $45,000 a year; the average salary in Robeson County is $33,000.
According to the governor’s office, the North Carolina Department of Commerce spearheaded the effort to have Serioplast open their Robeson facility.
