The ad watch section in the Washington Post took notice of Governor Cooper’s campaign releasing a new spot entitled, “Wrong.” The clip shows Lt. Gov. Dan Forest waxing about the coronavirus and minimizing how seriously it should be taken.
“Roy Cooper, ‘Wrong.’ Cooper, who narrowly won the race for governor in North Carolina four years ago, saw his popularity surge as he ordered stay-at-home rules to respond to the COVID-19 pandemic,” Weigel writes.
The spot covers Cooper’s opponent, “Republican challenger, Lt. Gov. Dan Forest, for skeptical quotes about the restrictions and even some skepticism about whether masks are useful for preventing infections. ‘North Carolina? We’ve never had a curve problem here,’ Forest says in one clip. ‘Our curve has always been flat.’”
