Even though they cannot let people in to browse the stacks, libraries in Wilson County are keeping their services available to citizens.
“Books can inspire, reassure, entertain and provide company in times of isolation,” Genevieve Baillie told the Wilson Times. Baillie is a librarian with Wilson County Public Library.
The main library buildings are closed to visitors, but the system is offering curbside pickup for books, DVDs and the like.
“As librarians, a thing that warms our hearts is seeing what an important place books hold in people’s lives when facing trying circumstances,” Baillie said to the Wilson Times.
Readers can reserve books online and pick them up at a local branch. Library employees will come to the curb with the reserved books in hand.
The librarians say that the website offers a number of e-book options as well, via yourcloudlibrary.com. Users need only to have their library card number and PIN in order to access those resources.
